INSTALLATION OF CUSTOM CONCRETE POOL
Pool is dug and being readied for concrete.  Steel reinforcing is installed in
what will be center of concrete shell.  PVC Plumbing and a Pool Light will
also be installed.  Pool Plumbing is 2" Schedule 40 pipe to give good flow.
Special mix of concrete is being applied in a process called "gunite".  Air
is added which causes concrete to spray out of hose.
Walls of pool are built first.  Concrete is at least 8" thick, steel reinforcing
is in center of concrete.
Steps, tanning ledges, benches are built,
then floor of pool is installed last.
This is a popular option, a tanning ledge, in this pool it is used as the top step, with two more
steps below.
Here is a different pool being gunited, this is a rectangle.
Here is how steps are built.  First the area is built up with concrete.  Then top step is cut out of
concrete, then second step started.  More concrete applied, then cut out to make bottom step.
Bullnose coping is installed on top of the gunite pool shell.  This finishes the edge of the pool and
gives you a hand hold when you are in the pool.
Then concrete decks are formed and poured.  These are gray concrete with a tile pattern
stamped.  Stamped, or patterned concrete is a option, standard decks are gray, broom finished
concrete.
These decks are stamped with a texture only pattern, then acid stained with a Cola stain.
Here is another pool with
forms set for concrete decks.
Broom Finish Decks are done, waterline tile installed and
pool has been plastered.  Ready for water.
Pool is full and running.  Ready to
use!!
with the addition of a gas heater
and salt water system.  Piping is all
Sch40 PVC for good water flow.  No
cheap sewer fittings used here!
Very neat & tidy installation.
